Thanks to the guys at ON3P for putting on the free Demo Day at Stevens Pass today !
I've been wanting to Demo ON3P's for a while and finally got the chance today.
I demoed the Vicik in 186: 134-104-124
I didn't get to spend too much time on these, but they appear to be a very versatile ski that would make a good, every-day ski for the PNW. There was a fresh 2 inches over some slightly icy patches, and these skis tipped and held their edge nicely, even on the icy patches. With the rocker and ON3P's bullet-proof construction, these skis should be able to take you anywhere, on piste or off, in any type of snow. Over the past 3 seasons, I went from waist width of 67 to 77 to 88 and this year to 94. At first, I was a little concerned that at 104 the Viciks would be a little skittish over hard spots, but not so - they tipped and held their edge nicely, which further convinces me that fatter is the way to go with the new designs out there these days.
If you're looking for a ski you can use every day in the PNW, definitely check out the ON3P Vicik's. In addition to being great skis, built by a good group of guys down in Portland, they also have that 'cool Indy ski' look !
