Race Plates - Step or no step?

I wanted a 15mm vist wc race plate for stockli laser sc. I got sold by the vist rep on the step plate 15/11.

I would like to hear opinions of step plates vs. flat.

Thanks!

anybody?

I've got either a Vist or Stockli plate which come off my Laser SC's when I put the Speedlock plate on.  I'll have a look and see what it was.  IIRC Vist has this thing about -ve delta being good for racing.

Well, I mounted and skied on the step plate and I love the plate. But, I can't say I notice the difference between a step or level plate.

Is your long leg fully extended, or does it have a bend in it in the belly of the turn?

Comprex, I think its bent but I'll let you know in two days when I ski next. I never really took a good look.

I was just saying that I have three pairs of skis with plates and didn't notice a difference. But, I only skied the step plate 2 days and haven't gone back to my other skis yet.

Thanks!

If your boots are set up for a zero ramp angle stance, your bindings should be zero ramp angle as well, which is where the step-up plate comes in handy.
