Look PX12 lifter binding

Does anyone know if there is a difference between the 2009 Look PX12 lifter and the 2010 or 2011 binding? Is it just cosmetic (color)? Any weight savings for the newer version? The 2009 version say "composite" on the heel, as do the newer ones.

Anyone? Sorry if this is a basic question, but I can't find any info regarding any changes. I don't want to by an older (new) binding if worthwhile changes have been made.

for all intents and purposes the same binding

I don't believe that Look (and probably other manufacturers) changes a binding in any significant way without changing the model name.

Depending on your circumstances, consider mounting it without the rear plate.

Why do you say to mount it without the rear/heel lifter? I'm just getting back into skiing, so this new techno is a little confusing to me right now.

You can find various discussions here using the search function. Basically the look lifter puts a significant ramp angle under your foot which may either be a benefit or a hurt your fore/aft balance.

Thanks for the info, I'll do a little more research on it as well.
