Want to buy a new mid-fat ski (84-90mm under foot) for Tahoe. I am 6' 3", 215#, 7-8 type skier, 70/30 groomer vs off piste, don't do big bumps anymore. Would like to find a ski that allows me to explore more of the mountain beyond the groomers, but still carves well when I just want to cruise.
Currently skiing the Nordica Nitrous (wood core-no metal), 178cm, 78mm under foot. Fun, lively ski but I wish it was a little longer. I have been researching new boards and the Rossi S86 Freeride has my attention. Questions are (1) is it a good carver, (2) is it a good ski for a larger skier, like me, and (3) is the 186cm length right for me?
Any opinions are appreciated.
