Kid Stoke Picture Thread - Page 3

Not pics - just a short story.  Not kid stoke - more kid getting stoked.

Couple of nights ago I was upstairs studying, heard a "bump...bump...THUMP"  repetitively from the basement.  Went down to check it out.  My daughter (turned 7 recently), had put on her boots, locked into her skis and would lean left/right like she was skiing, then take a couple steps and hop in the air like coming off a bump.  She looked at me and asked "when is it going to snow?"

Awesome! My daughter is 7 too and she's been asking about poles incessantly so I finally bought her a junior pair.  She puts on the boots, locks in, grabs her new poles, and "skis" in the living room.  Funny and cute.

Hillel just signed up for his Camelback season pass...he better go to that hill ALOT.

If you see a kid cruising around in a snazzy new Obermeyer get-up along with a poorly dressed parent looking guy, say "Hello."

Today at Crystal.  She was due for new Jacket and pants this year.  Wanted to pick them herself.  Gave her some parameters and price.  She spent over 2 mo looking at stuff on the internet and in shops, waiting for sales.  Settled on the outfit below, goth she is NOT (yet).

My son Chase turned four a week ago, today.  Saturday was his first time on skis- I took him up to Stratton.  He had fun, and Dad was stoked to finally get him going!

I thought I had a picture of her from Boyne, but I couldn't find one.  Here's one of your son.

Who needs the latest/greatest skis, edge angles, boots, camber, rocker, or even underwear?  Daughter and I went almost bell to bell today (she had a 2 hour lesson in the middle) on a great snow day.  Head back to the truck and I am so tired I'm not sure I'll be able to get my boots off.  Daughter sees a 25-30 ft mound at the edge of the lot..."Please dad can I climb it?"  She struggles to the top, then does the following butt ski.  "Good enough?" I ask.  Not even close...she spent the next HOUR slogging back up and coming down with everything from sideways barrel rolls, front flips to backward rolls.  Always "Just one more dad?"

Man I miss being a kid...the ability to make some of the simplest things become the greatest thing ever, simply because you are doing it, experiencing it RIGHT NOW.  The pure joy of living.

And yes...I did do a couple of barrel rolls

I saw a 4 year old girl step out of her skis and immediately tip forward and fall. at least she must have been leaning forward while skiing, right? so adorable.
