Exactly one year ago I got a pair of new boots (Head Edge+ 11 SH3; an "intermediate" 90 flex, 104 last). The boot fitter at my ski shop picked those out based on (I'm assuming) my implied price range, and perhaps his assumption of my ability.
Anyway, they've been used 25 days. This season, I've already been out more days than the last two years combined. Also, I took off-season conditioning very seriously.
The boots are too loose; I can wiggle my feet around in them, and they are not very responsive. They didn't used to feel like this, but I don't know if this is a function of me becoming a better skier in the last few weeks (perhaps reaching a level I never was able to because of lack of skiing frequently), because my foot anatomy slightly changed, and/or because the liner has packed out.
Any suggestions would be welcomed, but regardless I'm getting new boots, and am wondering if the flex index or the last (width) is more crucial to "performance."
Also, FWIW: I took out the liner and put my foot in the shell, and I can fit at least two fingers between my heel and the shell when my toe is all the way up.
