Best Freestyle Ski for a Beginner?
You didn't really get very specific in your question... height, weight, age, what you want in a ski- all around ski that will be ok in the park or a pure park ski that will excel in the park? Are you more interested in jumps and half pipe or sliding rails? What brands of skis have you tried and what did you like/dislike about them? Where will you be using these skis.
If you want a versatile all around ski that is OK in the park, get a directional twin (tip wider than tail) and mount it forward but not true center, look for something with some shape so it will carve a bit on trails, depending on where you live and ski you may want something a bit wider.
If you want a pure park ski, go with a more symmetrical ski and mount it true center, less sidecut is better, skis for half pipe need solid edge grip, quality bases make it easier to get more air.
If you like rails... buy something cheap because you will be buying more often.
Weight is a consideration in the air, light skis are easier to spin on but heavier skis can be more stable in funky snow and more durable.
Okay wow lets start from the top.
6'0" 120 15 Y.O.
I want something mainly for jumps.
I currently have my skis 70% - 30%
So what you suggested is to mount them 50 - 50.
Also what is a good binding.
I have never in my life slipped into one of those skis thus I would not know where to start.
I have looked through Nordica Salomon and Armada's selection.
I would love your final input with this given information or if you require more please ask.
