I need a bootfitter near Marblehead Ma.

My last fitter, where I used to work (Viking Ski Shop in Chicago) spent 3-4 hours with me and made footbeds and used the Tekscan and even had to blow out parts of the boot (Tecnica)...I have dreaded this day, but, it is time to get a new pair of boots. We live on the Northshore of Boston.  Can any of you please recommend a boot fitter who is knowledgeable and patient? Thanks so much, Colleen

I am not familiar with the boot fitters in MA, but you may want to consider using a fitter near where you ski. This makes it convenient to hill test and run back to the shop if need be.  If you ski ME/NH, I would rec Dan Lewis at Stan and Dan Sports in North Conway, NH.  He is experienced, knowledgeable and VERY patient.  I have very difficult feet and fitting me usually requires a total of 10-15 hrs over a few visits.  Dan is great and I highly rec him from personal experience.  If you ski in VT, Benny Wax at Inner Bootworks (Stowe Mtn. Road), or of course Green Mountain Orthotic Labs gets very good press here.  Others will have further recommendations as well.  Good luck.

If gordon hay is still in mass, that's your best bet. Ironically last I heard he had relocated to marblehead to pursue aline.com. he's a great master bootfitter.

I fell out of touch with him around 2006 when I moved away from Boston, which was also around when he moved to Marblehead.

I was wondering if he is still there, and indeed he is:

I'll have to stop by the store -- only a few blocks from my Aunt.  (And I was just there last week, should have dropped by to say hello -- Gordo is so much fun to hang out with!)

No problem.  I'd be curious to hear what you think of Aline and the work they do...
