Some video I shot At the Boat last week...

I got a Go Pro for Christmas and shot some runs. I have it on a chest mount and it was a little low and so it looks like you are in the back seat due to the fish eye lens. Nothing crazy but the snow was sweet, very low light so everything looks very flat. Storm peak face looks like a flat green... but I thought what the heck...

Nice video! I got a Countour HD cam for Christmas, so interesting to see the comparison to your Go Pro. Both seem to suffer in low light, but the Go Pro looks slightly better I think.

Can you name for me the run in the 2nd video w/ the tall, sparsely populated pines? My wife and I will be there in Feb (our first visit to Steamboat) and it looks like a run she would enjoy.

if its sparse pines its actually the center of Storm Peak. Its rated as a "black" run, its not really that steep though. its not usually in this kid of shape, its typically bumped out.

These glades are awesome!

Looks like you got prime conditions, did you record using the 960p mode?

Steamboat is definitely in my must ski list.

Finndog, you're such a tease!  I'm going to have to get to the boat some time soon!

yes, the default 960 mode. it seems to be a good all around choice.    I need to post these on utube.  I don't know if folks know there are 4 vids here

Finndog, what made you choose the chest mount over the helmet mount?

Thanks

'Dog, I just pulled the trigger on the HD 960, so I'm scoping all the GoPro posts here. Same question, or did the chest mount just seem a no-brainer due to what you use your helmet for? roflmao.gifI'm a brushwacker, too. And, I'm thinking a pole mount is just too much if you really ski to the edge.

Come on, give it up. You're skiing with it right now aren't you?

Recommendation on the size of a memory card, I have a 4GB for my Panasonic, is that enough?

You might want to hit the Boat on the way back, they've had 33" this week.

Can't wait.  Hitting the hard core glades of Jay this weekend.  And then the awesome fun of the Boat in 4 weeks.  can't wait to get out there. Thanks for sharing (and get the bumps back on Storm Peak!)
