hi, i'm new to the forums, so hello. i put on Salamon, Atomic, Technica, and Nordica boots last season to get an idea of what shell was good for me. with an open mind, i found that the Nordica Speedmachine 110's fit me the best. these four companies are the only found in my area. should i try Lange or Fischer.....ect, to find a fit? i want a race ski, and an all conditions ski. should i just get a race boot, or go for 1 notch below a race boot? my left foot has a last of 105-106. my right foot has a last of 103-105. any good boot fitters out there, in my area? i don't care if i have to drive to New York. these boots are going to be with me for a long time. do i need a boot fitter? oh yea, and my length is: left foot 28.5, and right foot 28.0. i'm skiing on 15 year old Salamon skis, and Rossi boots. none of which are stiff enough. please help with opinions.
do i need a boot fitter?

First it is nearly impossible to get a proper fit off the shelf, so yes you need a boot fitter. A race boot is simply a 98mm lasted boot. Which is to say about a "C" width. Your foot is wider, so without some work you probably can't wear a 98mm boot comfortably. If someone can modify one to work you'll find it offer more control than a wider boot.
