Hey fanatical ski crazies!
I just wanted to check in and point out that the skiing in our valley is unreal this year.
Yes, we have had some warm temps lately, and that has brought rain to the town, but it seems to have fallen in a more whitish form on the slopes, and every day this week, I keep talking to friends who've been just crushing the powder. There is a lot of snow here, and an attitude to match.
So....if you want to take that risk of turning your skiing into something beautiful, you should jump into our EpicSki Academy in January.
As a teacher, I don't know of a better environment in which to learn to ski than small groups working and collaborating together. And I don't know of a better place to do it than AspenSnowmass. And I don't know of a better group of coaches than the ESA stars.
So I hope to see you out here so I can get the vicarious thrill of your skiing.
I'm not skiing myself this season. First season off since I was six! I've had a wild and woolly back surgery, and as soon as that heals I get a new hip. It's pretty exciting because it'll give me many more years of good physical structure without pain, for all the goofy stuff I like to do. The idea of getting most of my parts replaced is really attractive.
The only decision is whether I should buy them all at WalMart's or take up Squatty on his offer to supply me with used parts from the elk that he shot earlier this fall. (Squatty says: Hey Weems! Stop spending all your money at the doctor's. I've got fresh vertebrae, hips, whatever you need. And I've got power tools, so I can install all of it!)
Hey y'all. Come visit this January!
