Not a fashion question, it's a function question...but girly.

I need a new jacket.

I have a very warm and cozy lavender Rossi that I got last year. All the bells and whistles.

Wore it at Sugarbush last year when it was 900 below and even the poma was on wind hold.

Stayed warm.

Problem is, it's like wearing a fluffy futon. Felt constricted. Like an oompa-loompa

My problem is that I'm short and curvy. Think va-va-va-voom, only 51.

Every jacket I try on that has a nice streamlined cut misses one of the key marks: chest, waist, hips.

I'm looking more for a stretchy shell that I can layer up. If it gets to 900 below, I'll wear the futon.

I don't care about all the bells and whistles. I don't do backcountry, or lots of off-piste.

Oh, and I am sick of black.

Any ideas?

Also, if you can solve the same problem for my PFD when I fish, that would be great.

Cheers!

Time to turn!

Alli

Is the swallow African, or European?  cool.gif

If you're hard to fit and you want a soft shell, these guys do custom fitting: http://www.beyondclothing.com .  You send your measurements, they make a jacket to your specs.  Pick your own color, number of pockets, etc.  My problem is I need tall sizes, but I could see similar issues if you're on the short side.

If you know specific jackets you've tried, people might have suggestions for other ones that might fit you better.  I don't know much about ladies' jackets myself.  You could also try over at SkiDiva?  You can't be the only person with this issue...

I'm 5'6", with some hips so I have a bit of an issue with jackets being tight around the hips.

I've seen some great Marmot jackets that  have a cut you may like.

I have a couple Marmot garments and like the tech fabrics too.
