Kastle MX78 or Rossi S3 ?

Yes, I know...very different skis. But I own both of these.

Which one to bring to Utah next week?   I haven't had a chance to ski either of them yet.

It is a family trip, during Xmas week. I won't have too much "me" time, so mostly skiing with wife and son who are solid intermediates. I'm also trying to stuff 3 pair of skis into a 2 pair ski bag, so I won't be able to bring both of mine.

Leaning towards the S3, based on the playfulness and the fact that, hey it is Utah.

Next week? sounds like a flight time decision. Can you remove bindings and pack all? Can you ship a pair out NOW to be there when you arrive?

Can't easily remove these bindings. Look pivots.  If I ship, I'll already have skied 3 days by the time they arrive, unless I fork over $113 to Fedex. Leaving Friday. I guess there are worse problems to have.

Thinking I could pop off my wifes bindings, but I'm betting the bag would break 50lbs. Not sure what AA would charge for that.

It's snowing in Utah right now and is supposed to keep snowing into next week so wider is probably better.

Alternatively, take the MX78 and demo a wider ski if you need it?

Just skied on these today in Utah and were a lot of fun.  Awesome in trees and powder, decent on groomers for a ski that is 98mm.

S3, no contest.

So I had a chance to ski both of these yesterday. BUT, it was in the Poconos, on totally man made snow.

Kastles in the morning...did what I expected them to do. Great skis.

The S3's in the afternoon, on the totally wrong snow felt a little scary.  First turn I went to make, I almost did a 180. I really had to try to not over steer these. I ended up loosening my boots (which were not very tight to begin with) to keep from turning too much.  Now, of course I did buy these for EC trees and the rare soft snow day I get to. BTW, widest skis ever and first time on a rocker.

With 51" in the past 3 days at Park City. I'm still leaning towards the S3.  But, if the snow stops falling and I spend a holiday week, dodging people on groomers, I will really miss the Kastles.

Looks like it will be a very last minute decision.
