If you read my earlier post I have been having a time finding boots but I think there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I have now found a boot at my shop that I am confident can be made to work for me, and I just need to pick between the two sizes. My feet are a little different in length; left at 254-255mm and right exactly at 250mm. I have decided on the Lange Banshee Pro (the 130 flex model) and can't make up my mind between the 6.5 and 7.5. My old tecnica icon's are 25.0 w/ a 296mm bsl and they have packed out to where the right boot has no heel hold at all. On the lange's the 6.5 has a bsl of 292mm and the 7.5 is 300mm. I am not sure how or even if BSL plays into this, but if a 296mm boot has packed out too much I am more inclined to go with the 6.5 lange.
In terms of shell fit I am around 10mm in the 6.5 and around 16-17mm in the 7.5 (based on the dowel at the bootfitter's shop). My bootfitter says that a 250mm foot can go either way in these Langes.
Just trying to get all the info I can to make a good decision. I am inclined to go with the 6.5 and after they have packed out then have the toe ground out if needed. Does this sound like a reasonable plan?
I also have a rather high instep that will need a bit of work; perhaps the 7.5 would accomodate this a bit better?
A bit about me: 5'8", 150lbs. Not sure what level, 8/9 I would guess. I ski all over Colorado and Aspen Highlands and Silverton Mountain are my favorite areas. I can ski most everything comfortably (except the big airs at Silverton-under 10 feet for me).
