I'm looking to purchase a new pair of boots this year. I'm currently wearing a pair of Lange Freeride 130s. I enjoy the stiffness and control that I get from them, but they are narrow (98mm) and by the end of the day my foot is pretty well smoked. I have had custom footbeds made at Surefoot and they did some grinding on the inside for the navicular and the sixth toe region. It has helped a lot, but I'm looking for something just a hair wider.
I like the walk feature on the Super Blaster (120) and that it's wider (102mm). I also like the RX 130 because it's wider (100mm). I'm kind of at a loss here. What kind of performance will I be giving up going to a 120? Also, what would be the other major differences between these boots? I've skied Lange boots since 1997 and I've been very pleased with them.
Any assistance I can get from the team out there is greatly appreciated. I'm skiing on Atomic Nomad Crimson Ti(s). I ski blues and blacks (feel pretty comfortable anywhere). Winter Park is where I'm skiing most of my days when I'm back in the States (currently deployed), and I'm heading to Big Sky in March when I get back.
Thanks again for all of the help.
