Who is planning to ski BC in 2011?

Thread Starter

just like to see if can get a random group together. like to get in touch with anyone who is planning to ski in the BC area of winter 2011 around Jan or Feb.

Considering ski in Kicking Horse and Revelstoke for a few days.

Even considering doing a heli ski trip as well

I plan to land in one city and rent a vehicle and head out to the spots.

So might do 2 resorts, Kicking Horse and to REvelstoke in case anyone is interested.

As a second idea just in case if anyone is interested.

Ski in Whistler again, problem is accommodation can be pricery for one person there.

So if anyone likes to share a room or rent a villa or anything in Whistler,

let me know and put a plan together.

get back to me on here for further questions and get to know one another

it would be great to hang with some fellow ski/board people out there.

cheers

I can see us doing Whistler late in the year again this year.

We got a great deal from a fellow bear last year on a loft type condo right in the village, so you never know price wise. ( he can post if wants to rent it out again, Im not gunna volunteer his place to you LOL)

Also Ive posted on another thread that Jan 20-25 I will be at Castle Mountain Alberta ( crows nest pass just inside from the BC boarder, It seems we have a few regulars that ski here. Beyond that ya never know , post when you start to firm things up a bit!!

Planning on doing Red and Whitewater the week after New Years.   That is the slowest time of the year for the cat skiing operations and going to go up ski maybe:   49, Red, Whitewater with a call each day to Wildhorse, Valhalla and Big Red Cats on availability of seats on the cat.  No room just go ski Red or whitewater.   Thinking 3-5 days no firm on that.   So far have myself totally committed and my ski bud Van is "probably" going to.  Can hold 3 in my truck comfortably, pleenty of room in back for gear.

I'll be at Whistler with 3 others skiing on Jan 7-9.  We're all upper intermediate/low advanced, so we'd be interested in hanging out if anyones around then.  Let us know!

I will be skiing KH and Fernie a bit this winter.

I was really hoping to make it to the mini-gathering in Rossland and Nelson this year, but I won't be able to get away from work.

Well thats sounds ok. I do not know my dates yet. I am wanting to go ski again in Revelstoke, as I was there last year and I thought it was amazing. I might even consider ski at Kicking Horse.

Anyone here ski at kicking horse? how is it like there? are the runs really good?

If a "mini-gathering" happens, I would enjoy participating. It'll be a long trip rolleyes.gif , but I should be able to make it...

Hope to come North and ski KH for sure and maybe Fernie on way up or maybe Panorama (taynton Bowl).   Can I hit you up with the questions before I come, thinking probably Feb?

Posted a thread on mini-gathering at Red, Whitewater and maybe some cat skiing the lst week of Jan but no action here.  Still plan on coming and my bud Van says he's going too.  So hope to meet up with you at Whitewater,   will let you know in a week or two when we will be there.   Plan on leaving and the day we leave call  Big Red Cats, Valhalla, and Wildhorse to check on standby for the next day.   If seats (2) available will cat ski if not eeithe Red or Whitewater and stay for approx. 3 days of skiing and repeat cat check each day.  Will let you know and am looking  forward to skiing whitewater with you.   Are you interested in the "standbye cat skiing"?
