Atomic Race and Neox mounting compatibility

I recently bought a used pair of Atomic GS 12s that came with Atomic Race 1218 bindings. While I bought these skis for aggressive on piste skiing, I weight 140 lbs. and these bindings may be too high in the DIN range for me.

I'm considering getting either Race 614 or Neox 412 bindings as replacements. My question is whether there's a problem switching over from the Race model binding to the Neox as far as ski/rail compatibility is concerned.

Anyone know what my options are?

The Race 1018 an excellent, super solid race binding (I have several pair), but it's way too much binding for you.  Switch to the Race 614 and stay away from the Neox (durability and recall problems, from what I hear).

I haven't had an issue with the Neox, but use the RACE 614. The switch will be easy as you can just exchange the toe and heel without removing the tracks. Chances are that if a 1018 binding is on the ski, it is a FIS compliant model, and the plate is predrilled with the Xentrix hole pattern. Without seeing the skis I can't confirm either way.

The Neox Binding was never part of that recall.  Neox are great bindings

Yeah, I was getting my models mixed up.  I never paid much attention because the 1018 is all metal and solid as a rock, and it was the plastic in the heels of the other models that was breaking.

To the OP, what length are the GS12's that you bought, and have you tried them yet?

Pretty sure the Neox Bindings holes wont match the Race binding holes.

If you want a set of 614s to replace I could do you a swap for the 1018s.  PM me

Without being able to recognize the hole pattern difference, I couldn't say.

I may have a line on a pair of 412 Race bindings. Do you know if those would fit the 1018 plate, whatever the hole pattern? (If that sentence doesn't quite make sense, then there's something I'm probably missing about the significance of the hole patterns....). Or would I have to remove the 1018 plates for the plates that would come with the Race 412 binders?

Appreciate your (and everyone's) feedback. Just joined this site and it seems really great.

They're 183cm. Haven't tried them yet. Dry as a bone here in New Mexico....

the 412s, the 614s and the 1018s all share the same mounting holes.  You don't even need to remove any screws though.  just slide out heel and toe and replace

I don't suggest using the 412 (or 310). Seen too many issues with them. I know what to look for, and I can make the required reparations.
