Salomon BBR Ski - pure genius? or pure stupidity? - Page 3

After looking at all the comments on the BBR 7.9 skis, I am even more convinced that I should treat my wife to a pair for our trip away this February (Her birthday break).

She broke her sacrum 4 years ago when boarding on our very first attempt on the slopes in La Tania and decided that she should try skiing instead (I'm still a Boarder!) so for 3 years now, she has been trying to conquer her fear of moderately steep slopes (Blues!) and has given up on day 3 a couple of times, so when her Instructer took her out this December in Thyon on the only slope open, she had a pair of BBR 7.9's on her feet.

Not sure whether he was just a fantastic Instuctor or as he would believe, the BBR 7.9 made a massive difference in her turning and gave her the confidence to be able to get to the bottom of a slope for the first time in 4 attempts! And to boot, it was a Red which was relatively steep in places.

She will not be doing break neck speeds and she will never be what some might call a decent skier, but she will be able to join the rest of her family on the piste as well as have fun when we go slightly off piste and for that, I can put up with the rather strange look and the fact that they are 2013 skis.

If they get her out skiing, it doesn't matter what people say. If the BBR gives her confidence to get out there, get them.
