Creating Extra Space in Toe Box -

Thread Starter

Just pulled the trigger on the Lange RS 130.  Overall the fit seems to be great, but I will probably need to have a little more space created in the toe box area given that I have size down a bit. I wear a size 12- street shoe and I went with the 27.5 shell, as the 28.5 is just is too big.

Was curious to get thoughts on what is the best method to create extra room at the front of the boot, to free up some wiggle room for the toes.  Main area is around big toe and second toe.  Is it ideal to heat shell and then stretch/punch or go with grinding?  I understand on this boot there is a fair amount of material so either would work.

Thanks in advance for all of your help and expert advice.

Hi Spott,

Just curious,  what is your shell check like in this boot?  The quick answer is

grind out the toe box area to suite---have you skied the boot?----yet as you might

need to break in the liner befor you do anything to the shell.
