I'm looking to buy my first pair of skis and need some direction/recommendations. I'm an intermediate level skier who is just starting to feel confident on black diamond runs, and I feel like I'm improving quickly.
I'm 6'3" 205lbs. I ski mostly groomed runs but would like to become more of an all mountain skier as my skills progress. I've been skiing for about 4 seasons and went up about 5 times last season. I ski out west in the Tahoe area. So I'm looking for something in the $100-200 range and I'm guessing a length between 175-185 depending on the ski. I demo'd a pair of Rossignol Zeniths last year in a 176 length and they were a lot of fun for my skill level and I would think something similar in terms of shape, maybe a tad longer would be about right. Any recommendations (sizing as well)
Is it worth it to buy a ski that is say 5-8 years old or has the technology advanced to much? All your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks. Bill
