Montana Ski Company is a new hand-made ski company created by Zak Anderson and Chad Wold, (with financing from Bledsoe Capital Group in Whitefish, Montana) launching to the public in 2010 with 4 models (park & pipe, all-mountain, powder and a 5-point, early-rise fat ski.), along with custom and semi-custom constructions priced at approximately $795, $895 and $1495. Custom topsheets available 2-year limited warranty.

Drew Bledsoe (ex. Patriot & Cowboy) is the money behind these skis.  I love the graphics.....I wonder how they ski.

Anyone try them yet?

Ironic that Blizzard choose this year to come out with a line of backcountry skis with bull's heads on them. Like the skeletal versions better, actually. What they don't explain - where I could see, may be blind - is construction. Granted that custom can mean many things, but will these be all wood, what kinda wood, or wood and carbon, carbon sheets vs. carbon strips in glass, stuff that helps predict what the product will feel like.

That said, nice ideas, and if Drew's financing it, should gain major yards before losing in the end...biggrin.gif

From the website about one of the skis. the PArc:

Quote:
A solid wood core combined with triaxial fiberglass give the PArc ski burly stiffness and lots of pop. The trapezoidal wood sidewalls and thick Durasurf sintered bases handle abuse from rocks, rails and urban sessions.

The Soldier:

Quote:
proven all-mountain dimensions, blunt nose twin tips, trapezoidal wood sidewalls, and a light maple/poplar core.

The Canyon Creek:

Quote:
The poplar core is designed to be lightweight

Any specific questions, I'm sure you can email them.
