New Company: Vertical Skis

Thread Starter

Colorado, USA has produced another ski company called Vertical Skis. Ash-poplar cores with carbon-Kevlar stringers, ABS sidewalls, ISO7200 bases and special epoxy underfoot for the park & pipe models. Vertical Skis has launched for the 2010-2011 season after a year of testing in U.S. competition with a full fleet of models including mogul, big mountain, park & pipe and powder skis. More info on these guys as we get it

many companies of tech oriented products would launch their introduction with some info on the expertise and background and qualifications of the principals of the company, engineers, designers, financial directors and so on. hearing about the materials in the ski is not useful information until you know who is using them, IMO. not criticizing, just asking for the inside information that would produce confidence in the company.

I've been designing the topsheets for the skis and marketing materials from the beginning -- I will have the owner prepare some more info.

If you look under "Manufacturers Comment's" Under ExoticSkis.com there is additional information.

You can send any direct questions to me:  Dave@verticalskis.com

I'd like to see more info on the Phantom - dimensions, profile, layup, etc.  That one definitely looks interesting.

The Phantom is a tele ski in development -- I'll get you some specs.

Since you live in Denver you could demo the other skis if interested. There is usually something going on at Copper, Breck, or Winter Park.

Thanks for the product info. I'm checking it out.

Actually Dave Patterson from your home state of Michigan has a shop in Beaver Creek and Golden, CO selling Vertical Skis. I need to get those and others listed on our web site.

Good to know, Even though I do not know him. I wish I had some more local bears to chat with and drink coffee.

With all of the early snow in the Rockies this season I think most of these big boards are already gone, but a new batch is underway...

Hi MWP,

I'd love to know when they are having an on snow demo booth at Breck. I'd love to try them out. Diesel and Powder Hound seem right up my alley!

MR

PS, more skis flow into the museum on a regular basis. Come on over, have a beer and a look at the latest in retro.

Hi Doug

Actually there are pretty regular demos going on between Copper, Winter Park and Breck.

This trip is a pretty quick trip for me. Air fare at the last minute was pretty expensive so I will have the fun of taking AMTRAK and sleeping on the train.

I will have to see when Mike will be in Breck doing demos again.

You'll have to park your vehicles on the drive so you can turn the garage into a museum like ROSSI SMASH!

Dang Doug -- I just realized your race camp is Saturday? I am in Denver Thursday and Friday.  I head home to the family Friday night.

How did the shirts turn out?

As attrition was a concern, we are waiting until the event to take $ for shirts and have them made. No problems with the artwork according to the printer. I'll keep you posted.

Nice TS's!  Very good looking skis. Construction/design sounds solid.  I wish them much success!
