I did a search on skis for teens and found some good info, but my 14 year old son is so big already I wanted to double check with the experts.
He started skiing last year and though he is fearless and skis very fast, he still needs a lot of work on his tecnique. I'm just happy he can stop on a dime and is having fun.
He is currently skiing on equipment that I have. 181 Rossi WC GS and another pair of 188 Rossi GS skis. Last year he learned on 160 Slalom skis but they are now shot. He also skied on a pair of K2 Commanche Pro's (el cheapo find) and thought they were ok.
I think he will survive just fine on the K2's but want him to have his own skis that he loves. We have season passes at a nice hill in Central Wisconsin. Great park riding, decent steeps though not long, and moguls. Your typical groomed Midwestern Ski hill, 700 ft. vertical.
Should I be looking for park skis for him? The 160 slalom skis are spent because he went nuts in the park last year. So the interest is there. He does like to ski fast on the groomers though, and LOVES my Rossi WC GS skis. But they are mine lol. Any suggestions for a one quiver ski for this dude? Thanks!!
