I was looking at some Alaskan heli-ski packages (probably a pipe dream, but a nice one) and saw one that looked interesting which was for "experts only". Do I count as an expert?
I would definitely be classed as a level nine skier rather than a level eight, but I don't generally get more than a week of skiing a year and don't really know how *good* a level nine skier I am. The last time I had a lesson, I was at Windham and one instructor took me down all the double blacks, while another had a sadistic fondness for the mogully blacks. I never felt out of my depth, though my thighs were certainly burning after some of those moguls. I'd like to think I'm good enough, but I certainly don't want to save thousands of dollars to get to the Alaskan wilderness only to find I don't belong there.
