Alta - Snowbird - 12/4-5

Going in - the weather report was a little strange - it was supposed to be warmer (in the 30s) than usual for this time of year. It hadn't

snowed in about a week.

Alta - Saturday - 12/3 - Supreme lift was closed - so we spent most of our time off of Collins and Wildcat. the groomers were not bad - a little slick in spots. Ballroom was nice - but a little heavy towards the bottom. Runs off of wildcat were fantastic - down the lift line, punch bowl, blackjack. Excellent snow.  Went to greely bowl in the afternoon - very nice at the stop, heavy at the bottom. Devils castle - plenty of snow - but a little heavy.

Snowbird - sunday - 12/4 - Chips runs was nice but slick in spots. Off of Chips - it was nice but well packed. Silver fox was a little bare.

Then we hit Mineral basin. Fantastic. Tons of snow. great conditions. the snow pack currently is better than many January-ies I have skied

there. It was nice and sunny with great visibility. We could bomb down the lift line - and not hit a single rock.  in the afternoon - headed to little cloud bowl. Regulator and skiers left of Regulator was OK. Road to Provo - was very nice with lots of snow.

We make it to Alta/snowbird - every first weekend of Dec. I would say that this year the snowpack was way better than most years.

Sorry no pictures.
