Not a word about this event?  Was it called off, or were all the attendees sworn to secrecy?

Abasin 2010 wrapped up this afternoon and was a great event! We've been busy with full days and evenings, so I for one have not had much time to post. Hopefully we will here from a few of the attendees, though I know many are traveling home tonight and tomorrow.

Annie took a number of photos and when I see them popup on FB I'll try to bring them over here. Conditions are excellent here right now and we had great terrain available all weekend.

Many thanks to all who attended and to our ESA Sponsors. Special thanks again to K2 for their continued generosity providing skis for our raffle, to Transpak for supplying boot bags, to Starthaus for the parting gifts for all the participants, and Jeff Bergeron of BootFixation for skiing with all the groups and an incredible presentation on the bootfitting and balancing process.

I'll try to keep my eyes pealed for those pictures and in the meantime I'm shifting focus to Stowe ESA....

The A-Basin Photos are here!

What a great event! The snow conditions were excellent and of course the coaching was over the top. A special thanks to Bob, Annie, Tony and Chris! You know that your instructors are truly committed when the Ski Resort staff has to ask you to leave two nights in a row. No kidding! The first night the A-Basin staff informed us that they were about to lock the gates, the second night they turned the heat off.

I also want to thanks my skiing partners, Lori, Christy and Julie. You guys made it fun and the supportive feedback was a big part of the learning experience. And remember Julie...you can add the onions and celery directly to the roux, but not the bell peppers. Add the bell peppers after the chicken stock or they will impart a bitter taste to the Gumbo!

Enjoy the photos. I did not take nearly as many photos as I did at Aspen last season, but Bob Barnes was our instructor and he doesn't provide a lot of down time! ski.gif

Looking toward the East Wall from the Lenawee Lift. Who would have expected snow conditions like this around

December 3rd?

From the left...Lori, Christy, Julie and Bob Barnes.

Julie and Chris. Chris joined the group often to provide video support

and excellent ski technique demonstration.

Chris, Bob and Annie. I think I saw Annie sitting down once during

the event...nah...probably just the altitude messing with my head!

IMG_1483.JPG

Christy, Julie, Bob and Lori. I believe we're near the top of the Lenawee lift. I'm sure it was purely accidental that Bob

wound up with the three female skiers. Yea...sure Bob!

IMG_1485.JPG

Christy was kind enough to take camera duty. Annie complained about the lack of color in my outfit.Obviously, she overlooked the red

zippers on my pants pockets!

A bit of post skiing review and instruction.

Ray wins raffle for the K2 skis. I have a feeling that he is going to turn the certificate over to me. A good brother

would do that!

Getting ready for another great day.

Tony takes "staying on the edges" a bit far, don't you think?

IMG_1495.JPG

All three groups eventually converged somewhere along the "Cornice" for a final run down. What a great way to

wind up the event.

Lori, Annie and Julie. One last photo.

Thanks for Sharin'!

Nice photos.  Thanks for posting!

Looks like it was cold, but good snow.

Bob Barnes in Blue??

It is really a new decade I guess!

Beautiful mountains. Notice how Annie blends in her fashion camo jacket.

This one really makes you want to be there. Looks a bit like the Alps.

Hi blandry:

You're the man.  When you say posting a lot of pics, you don't beat about the bush do you?!   Well, since I'm missing the Stowe Event due to a stupid injurynonono2.gif, I can't repay my debt.  Have a great season. I owe you one.

Think snow,

CP
