Sometimes life just isn't fair :(
I'm usually in a bunch of pain when I walk and even more when I ski. I was born without arches in my feet. I have a bunch of extra bones in my feet, as well as an achilles tendon that doesn't stretch properly, arthritas and foot problems/ pain up the whazoo. I've had reconstructive surgery which hasn't helped much and am far beyond being able to be helped by custom made foot beds and orthodics.
I have a size 4E wide. I don't just need a wide toe box, I need the whole boot to be wide. My feet are thicker top to bottom than most feet. I also pronate inwards with every step.
I'm in need of a new pair of ski boots. Currently I have a pair of black Soloman's that have been heated up and stretched to accomidate my flat foot. They aren't too comfortable for me, but have been better than anything else I've tried.
I'm looking for a boot that has ZERO arch support and a lot of ankle support. I also need it to be wide and roomy from top to bottom to fit my horrible feet. I could care less about performance as I just want something that fits. I'm tired of being in extra pain when I'm on my skis.
Does anyone have any recommendations on what kind of boots I should look for? Does any company make a boot with zero arch support? Are there any ski boots which are soft and roomy like snowboard boots? Are there any ski bindings that I could retrofit snowboard boots on?
Are there any companies that make custom ski boots built to spec? I'd appreciate some help if anyone could chime in. I love skiing, I just hate being in pain :(
