Hoosier Pass, Bemrose Creek Ski Circus

Hoosier Pass is about 10 miles south of Breckenridge on Hwy 9. Drove out there and walked around with my dog today for a bit just before sunset. Beautiful views, peaks all around.

 

On the east side of the road is the Bemrose Creek Ski Circus...

On the west side of the road are more trails where people obviously earn their turns. Saw lots of tracks on powdery slopes.

 

Anybody done any cross country and/or backcountry skiing out there?

was out there last year.  Yeah there is quite a lot of backcountry ski opportunities back there.

In the 1930s there was a little ski area on Hoosier Pass. Had a rope tow and a couple runs. If you look carefully, you can see the two runs still. There are pictures of then and now in the Summit Ski Museum.
