How to Access Backcountry in Revelstoke

i was in Revelstoke last year but was not sure of how to access backcountry or how to ski the back side of mountain from the main lift?

if i ski the back side, how does one get back to main resort and lift area.?

 

Just was not sure as I had never done anything like that before

There was a group of 3 from my hometown that went beyond the ropes in Revelstoke.  They didn't know where they were, lost their footing and slid off a 100m cliff.  Only one of them survived.

 

My suggestion: stay IN BOUNDS unless you're with a local who knows where they are.

If you're asking these questions you shouldn't be going out of bounds. Mt. Mackenzie has lots of dangerous cliffs and drainages located OOB and if you don't know where you're going you will be spending a night outside or requiring an expensive rescue.
