ski boots....tecnica agent 110 vs dragon 110?

I am buying boots preferably very soon, and am debating between these two. I can get the dragon for 50 bucks more. Is it basically the same boot with a different liner?  thank you!!!

Yes they are pretty much the same boot. The Agent has a rubber (ish) boot board (zepa).

hmmm...

I see that the agents are marketed as a freeride boot and the dragons as an all mountain shredding boot. Would the rubber/ park oriented features get in the way of hard carving, and stability at speed?

what would you personally get?

thanks!

Go to a boot fitter and get a boot that fits YOUR foot, not some hypothetical foot.  I spent years in ill-fitting boots and when I finally broke down and actually got fitted, my skiing just a giant leap forward.  In the long run I would have spent a lot less money if I had done that hears earlier, rather than replacing boots after only using them a couple dozen times.  They felt nice in the store, but never felt good on the snow.

well I tried on the dragon 110 multiple times so I know how they feel and know what size I am. Once I receive my boots I will go get them dialed in.

how do nordica boots compare to tecnicas?

If you haven't done a shell fit, the size you've selected is likely 1-2 sizes too big.  Knowing your street shoe size is not useful information when it comes to ski boots.

my salomon boots are 27.5

im leaning to getting 27 in tecnicas....i wear a 10.5-11 street shoe

add the dragon 120 into the mix...might be getting a great deal on a pair

I'm in Agent 110's currently. After getting a little work done on it I'm really happy. Don't let the jargon confuse you. They aren't a park specific boot.

ohh sweet, yea im torn right now between agent110 and dragon 120...have you tried the dragon series at all? is it basically the same boot just a lil stiffer, and do you find tecnicas to run a lil larger than most brands? normally ski a 27.5, but thinking about dropping to 27 and getting boot work done, since its the same shell right

thanks!

Just got back from my first trip of the year. Rode on my dragon 110's for five days in VT. The first two days I had pretty bad shin bang so I doubled up socks for the third days and it was all good. The more I skied them, the more comfortable they felt on my feet. I'm 5'11 165 and an ex racer, and i thought the flex was perfect for me, i never really got thrown in the backseat at all and the buckles are nice how they dont have any pressure points. I demo'd skis on the last two days from a 178 rossi s3, to a 170 volkl kendo, to a 165 line prophet flite. while i have differring opinions on the skis, the boots were able to drive each ski really well. i could really feel the snow beneath my feet and the boots kept me warm in single digit degrees with 30 mph winds. we had some pow on the last day so i loosened the buckles a little bit and they definitely exceeded expectations

I have the Agent 110 and I love them.  They're comfy and keep my feet warm.  I have zero problems carving or with stability at any speed. I will say this though:  they run BIG.  My 110s are Sz 29 (most charts : 10.5 shoe)...I wear a size 13 shoe.  So you might want to watch out for that.

I got the  Agent 110's this year and really like them.  Good for all mountain skiing.  The do fit big so be careful with the size.

I ski the Agent 130, have for 3 seasons. Skied the Icon for 10 years prior to that.

Here's how I understand it. The Agent (around 2009) is the same shell as their race boot, the Diablo Pro. But it is matched with a more comfortable liner, warmer and softer. I think it's perfect because what I never liked in a raceboot, cold and painful, is not a problem with the Agent series. Regarding Park or Big mountain cruiser, the Agent comes in about 4 or 5 different flexes, down to 80 I believe, and you can select the softer model for Park.

I'm in dragon 100's.   They were horrible to my shins the first 3 days, and after that they felt much better.  Beware, they pack out quick.  Be smart and go down a half mondo just for that.   I did that because I heard they pack out quickly, and I'm glad I did.  I'm actually going to add a foot bed in there to give me back the fit.

Nordica boots are awesome if they fit your foot, as are technicas. I'd spend some time with a good bootfitter, and wouldn't worry over $50.
