Warm hat for my daughter

Thread Starter

Hey everyone, I know this may sound like an extremely randomn question, but  what do your children wear on their heads that wont fall off easily and that will protect them from the cold?

my daughter is going skiing with her cousins, so sadly I wont be able to run after her everywhere to keep her beenie down..

So I wanted some advice, what kind of hat do you put on your kid?

I always put somethinglike this http://www.twenga.com/price-womens-beanies.html

but apparently some other mom told me "what are you crazy you have to put something on their head that wont falloff" and ever since Ive been freaking out..

She told me my kid had to wear something like this

I mean seriously? should my daughter wear this?

I really need help

thanks a lot and have a nice day everyone

Ummm a helmet? They are warm, have a strap to hold them on and they also protect your kids melon.

Pretty hard to find a kid without a helmet these days.

A helmet sounds like the best answer for your child. Warmth and protection. Harder to lose.

Get a helmet, but make sure you get one that fits.  I see way too many kids being dropped off for lessons with helmets nearly covering their eyes because the thing is several sizes too big.  If the helmet doesn't fit it is actually dangerous.

Sorry, Sweeter, but the above posters are all correct.  You need to buy her a helmet.  Most ski areas won't teach kids unless they are wearing a helmet.  A helmet need not cost too much money.  Check out the Money & Time Saving Tips For Parents With Small Children Who Ski  link on this site.

You can rent helmets at the slopes, by the way. I might have my daughter's old helmet from when she was 7-10 hanging around. Where are you? Or is this a troll....

Unless you get her a helmet of course.  I don't have kids in that age range anymore so I'm not really paying that much attention (helmets were uncommon when my children were young), but you may find helmet use mandatory for children at some ski hills soon.
