Prophet 100 quality issues?

went into my local shop the other day all pumped to check out this years new prophets and was dismayed that the shop doesn't carry lines anymore. apparently last year, of the 50 pairs they sold, half came back with issues and line was not covering them. not sure if it was some warranty issue but the sales guy said that since line shipped their factory over to china the quality has dropped.

this was the first of issues from line ive heard and am sad because i was ready to buy the prophets 100 this year. anyone else heard similar things or think its still worth it to grab the 100s?

this is news to me. Line has been china made for years now BTW......

Yeah unless this was a single deviant batch, hard to understand; consensus is that Line's quality went up, not down, when they moved to China.

I have a pair of 100's that are 4 year old....made in china....the bases are bomber as are the edges.  The caps split ithe same places on both skis after two years but it didn't affect how they skied so I never bothered to see if Line would do anything about it.  They are now mounted as AT skis.....

I have owned two pairs of 100s, as well as 90s.  Think SOFT topsheets.  Some people like the cap construction, some don't.  Either way, you will significantly ding up your skis after a handful of days on them.  Bases are OK, but definitely not as durable as most of the skis I am on now (mostly US handmade stuff).  I like Line skis, but if I were shopping for durability, I would buy some Icelantics or Moments  for the same money.

this season ill be on the east coast but next season im anticipating on moving to CO so hopefully i can get away without any core shoots or damage before then.

one last question, ive got rossi axial 120 bindings on the 2005 elan mo2s now, are they a good match for the prophets or should i go for a whole new package? ill admit that i know nothing when it comes to hardware
