I don't know the name, but the tiny place in Vail, west of the covered bridge in the shopping area is good.

I think the sushi restaurant inside the Holiday Inn in West Vail is still there.

I have been to Vail several times but unfortunately never tried any of the Japanese restaurants there.  We did hit Foxnut sushi restaurant in Beaver Creek Village which was really good.  Not that far from Vail if you have a car:  http://www.bcfoxnut.com/home.htm

Trip Advisor's Vail restaurant rankings are here...see #18 and #26 for two of the highest ranked Japanese restaurants:  http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurants-g33676-Vail_Colorado.html

It is Osaki - and it is good, small, but good.  Reservations are a good idea

The sushi restaurant in the Holiday Inn is where I was told the "locals" go. I went and thought it was very good, friendly staff, and good price verse the places in Vail village. Yes, I like Foxnut in Beaver Creek, too, but that's a different kinda place.
