Black Friday/Cyber Monday Deals

What's a good place to shop at for either black friday or cyber monday deals?

I'm looking for a jacket for myself and a set of boots/bindings/ski's for the gf.

Thanks.

since it is high season for skiing, I wouldn't expect ski shops or ski businesses to participate in a desperate sale. department stores more.

Try to find a TJ Max--you should be able to find reasonable ski jackets at closeout prices. This is the time of year they have winter gear on sale. You can find some good deals on clothing. This year, I got a pair of Marmot Randonee gloves for $40.They always seem to have a lot of Marmot  apparel--and not just the low-end stuff. You can also find goggles pretty cheap. There was a pair of Zeal polarized SPX for only $39 and they had a couple of Scott I/O for $45. The only catch is the good goggles are usually the ones with the funky band graphics and they are on closeout because nobody would buy them as they are butt-ugly.

TJ Maxx has pretty much outfitted my entire family over years; we've gotten some really good deals on quality jackets, pants, gloves, and  even the occasional helmet. However, this year has been rather disappointing.

They still have a huge selection of gloves and there are some real good deals to be had, some decent women's jackets, but it's slim pickings for men's clothing. Most of what I've seen is low end stuff (no Marmot this year), and good luck finding anything if you're not a large or extra-large.

Maybe they have a better selection in other areas (I'm in NYC), but I get the impression that there was a lot less surplus inventory to dump last year than in previous years.

I don't think I've ever gone shopping on a Black Friday before?  Mountains typically open right about then and I'd rather go there.

Oh trust me so would I but sadly the hills here don't open up until December 11th.  If they open before I settle on a ski jacket i'm going to go in my Ninja Turtles jacket from when I was 8.

Ok I lied, I bought it last year at the age of 28 :S

I bought a full collection of Ninja Turtles when they were re-released in 2003.

I was 21.

Last year I got a Macbook Pro on Thanksgiving from Amazon.com discounted.  These are never discounted.  It was a 1 day sale only.
