Do you think that buying the year 2008 model of Voelkl AC 20 now in 2010/11 is still a good idea? The reason of course is the price - I can buy new 2008 model more than 2 times cheaper than the currect AC 20. (Just for the record - I am in Europe so it is ~400 EUR for current versus EUR 180 for 2008 model).
But perhaps the older model is a better fit for a less aggressive, less avanced skier? The 2008 model it the red color AC 20. The ski was later redisigned for year 2009 (or was it 2010?) with the addition of the "powered by steel" technology. I suppose the additional of steel layer makes the new ski more athletic. Would that mean that 2008 model would be a bit less aggresive and more forgiving?
I am a solid intermediate skiers, but would like to improve. I currently ski very old (end of 90’s?) Kneissl White stars - a failed GS ski that was sold as an „all-rounder”.
