What up everybody!! haha. I am a soccer coach who is starting to learn how to ski. As a coach I give my players evaluations. I rate there performance and suggest on how they can improve. Are there any serious ski instructors who do the same?

Right after the application that requires you to use proper english and grammar. rolleyes.gif

Sorry for the thread drift.

I am not sure where you live but many resorts offer a lesson package where you can work with the same instructor and help you with your progression. Epicski does also offer an Academy where you can get 2-5 days (depending on your choice) of great coaching. It is somewhat like summer camps that are common in the soccer world. It is great to hear that you want to start the sport w/o bad habits, coming from your background it sounds like you will be a great student.

Phil, thanks for stepping in so quickly! I'm sure Bush was only venting and didn't mean to greet Peekabrew so poorly. The sad thing is you only get one chance to make a first impression and Bush certainly chose to make a bad one for the rest of us here at Epic.nonono2.gif

Maybe we need a rule about welcoming new people and not insulting them until they have been around for at least a season.rolleyes.gif

Peekabrew, welcome to Epic! Please forgive Bush for his paranoid suspicions about who you are and why you posted your question about evaluations. He's actually worked hard on becoming a better teacher and I'm sure if he had thought about it a bit more he wouldn't have greeted you so poorly. Either that or Phil needs to chase him down and make him take his meds.roflmao.gif

As far as an assessment, or evaluation, I'm sure your on the snow coach will give you plenty of pertinent feedback and hopefully some advice about what awaits you on your next few visits. If you find yourself needing more clarity about the theory, or just want to discuss skiing that's where Epic really shines. Lot of folks passionate about the sport participate here and with one notable exception we would welcome you with open arms to this ski community.

Oh no worries!! And I hope you don't throw me out for bad grammer. I never took school serious, although I have an ACE degree from WVU. Was asking the question because I have 2 boys who will also be learning how to ski and was looking for the best coaches.

the thing is there has been a flood of new posters with question that either seem out there or trolling like France or questions that you couldnt answered them yourselve you have not an ounce of common sense.  I honestly think at this point Mods are starting topics just to keep these forum more active.

If Peekabrew was real he could post up a intro thread stating who he is. Because at this point he is a ACE educator with a degree and was not able to answered his own question which is obvisious to anyone who has coached anything which he has. Sorry to be rude but that seems so fishy to me.

I am just a realist, and alot of these new threads just dont seem like real people. Ill welcome anyone who is real.

so peekabrew post here first

and maybe next time I wont think your an alias. Everytime someone post I search there to see if they indeed of read and posted in that thread.

peekabrew - depending on where you live and ski check out the ski schools at the resorts. Start with lessons. Here at epic we watch peoples skiing from video clips and give feedback or simply answere questions. This is a good place to gather information and broden your view on skiing.

You funny Josh roflmao.gif

Welcome to EpicSki peekabrew.

I think you've gotten some good answers above.  If you poke around here a bit you'll find a lot of instructors use Video Movement Analysis.  As stated above, ESA is one such ski clinic that does this.
