I have no idea where 4ster is digging these videos up but I've been eating this stuff up.

check this one out from Alta

This is the script that is on the vimeo page

 

Alf Engen emigrated from Norway to the United States in 1929.
He developed Alta Ski Area in Utah in the 1930's, and is knows as "The Father Of Powder Skiing".

This is the powder chapter from the Alf Engen documentary "The Old Man Of The Mountain".

I have a pair of my great great uncle Gunner's skis in the garage, which are probably from the era of the video of Alta and I am always amazed that they could turn those planks
