i'm intermediate level, hoping to get out 35-40+ x this year..live in vancouver bc
stand .5'6" 48, 175lb (and working on losing 15 more lb).
new nordica tempest (replacing the nitrous)...has anyone tried them ie retailers carrying the brand?
when at whistler's final day last yr they hosted demo days...various retailers were up there setting up tents to allow you to try for free their gear ('twas lots of run) ie, kastle, fischer, atomic, head (etc)...and also nordica.
i usually ski a 163-168 length (am only a burgeoning intermediate) yet tried the nordica jet fuel and afterburner in a 170...man was I SO impressed, compared to the other brands I'd tried (I wanted to try the atomic blackeye but had no luck), the Nordicas came through in spades and 'fit' me well...went on a blue run/groomer mostly ...amazing edge grip, mid stiff, very user friendly to turn and steer and with different radius, too....was really happy that i'd finally found a ski that 'fits' (and how nice is that when it happens)
I do have the dynastar mythic riders (90mm waist, just bought from a gent on this forum) in in a 172 and am looking at an alternative ski for those hardpack days at my local mtn at a mid 78-82 waist...I do have an 08 pair of watea 84 in a167 that I might give up to a friend....to replace them (since the 84 waist is to close to MR's 90) I thought the nordica nitrous at 78 underfoot or its new replacement the tempest (80 underfoot) would do the ticket and provide more versatility for my quiver..
problem is: the tempest is new. and so have any retailers carrying it had a chance to try it (i am also looking at, as an alternative, the nitrous in a 2010 model.
