If you've been yearning to get back to using BB Code on EpicSki, you now can do that!

Simply go to My Profile in the header bar, select Edit Account Details, scroll down to this item and select BB Code:

bbeditor.tiff

First of all, thanks very much for bringing this back. However after I made the change in my account and tried to reply to your post, I got this (attaching an image so you can see exactly what I saw):

I assume (hope?) that this isn't how it's supposed to work. I tried hitting the "plain text" link but that stripped out all the codes, HTML and BB, so I lost my QUOTE tags and everything.

Nope, that is not how it is supposed to work, and the proof is: working fine for me. I now have very manageable quote boxes again, YAY!

Interesting, well for the dev team, it's firefox 3.6.12 and windows xp where i'm getting this behavior.  I've switched back to the rich text editor instead for now, but would love to be able to use the BB editor without a mess of HTML tags.

jaobrien6, after looking at it some more, I think that will only happen when you respond to THAT particular post of nolo's, because that post has in it so much HTML that doesn't correspond to easy BB code.

I still have to cut and paste to get below the quote, but it does work.

Interesting, it is only some posts, you're right. For example, here's what I see when I tried to quote both your quote and crgildart's. Yours looks fine, his is filled with HTML tags. I wonder why.

Thanks for testing. I'll refer this thread to the tech team.

Hmmm... not too surprising I suppose.

Quoting something that contains complex code inside another something that only understands simple code might be a bit problematic. How would the simpleton object know what to do with those unsupported complex features?

In truth, we probably don't need most of the complex content when Quoting & Multi-Quoting since all we really care about is identifying exactly what it is we're responding to. Inside a captured Quote we'd only need to have the original text (and simple formatting of same), Images and Links - but not anything else (that I can think of). Could probably strip out anything else.
