I'd like to write a duffel bag review

Thread Starter

I can't find a category to fit a duffel bag review.  I guess it's not really ski-specific, but all of us have needs for luggage.  Anyway, I got some duffel bags from Minus33 via ProMotive and I thought I ought to post a review in return for the good deal.

So, can we create a category for luggage, or should I just skip it?  Thanks.

We'll get right on it! Thanks for pointing out this lack.

Here you go.... Luggage & storage   it was there but the name was a bit vague.

^ is there any plan to add more crosslinking in either reviews or Wikis?

Can you explain a bit more about what you mean?

I mean whether there is a plan to add more lateral hotlinks, frex from JH mountain review to JH gathering wiki, from Snowbird review to Utah Gathering wiki, from boot review to "how to get the liner back in", from term-definition Wikis to Wiki articles that use those terms and back?

Right now, the wiki and review section is more like a cave diving experience than a surfing experience: ya gotta follow the rope back all the way to the entrance and get fresh air tanks before you can follow a path to a different destination. (Edit: I bring it up because of Xela's difficulty in finding the luggage section).

(BTW, I don't think this is a dev team issue so much as a content-adder issue)

We use a tagging system to get related content on the same page. We just don't use it very faithfully.

We have a team working in the background to improve our resort page content. For instance, here's the Jackson Hole page:

If you look at What People Are Saying, you will see threads and wikis about JHMR pulled onto the page through tags. Scroll down to the wiki (soon to be renamed Guide) and see how related content has been aggregated onto one resort page.

Is this what you mean?

^That is a start to what I mean, but the disadvantage of the tagging feature is that it requires both thorough and precise application of tags. I was hoping for an effort by content adders and content editors to use direct-insertion hyperlinking for connectivity closer to that of most (English-language) Wikipedia pages, frex.

Honestly, in my perfect information handling world wink.gif , tags would be more like an intermediate tool to help the article editor create the final page.

I gotcha now. Hypertext information links a la Doug Englebarticon14.gif
