Need lodging advice at Copper Mountain

Family of five hitting the slopes over Christmas to New Years...sorry only time we can go. We dont need a true ski in/out, but close enough for the kids to walk to the ski school.  We like to unwind and socialize with other families in the pool and hot tub. Need full kitchen.

Any advice?

Thanks,

Scott

Cache and Cirque are the closest lodging accommodations to Union Creek; however, presently neither has a unit available that will accommodate a family of five.  Telemark Lodge is the next closest and they do not have a unit that will sleep five either.  Best options are a 1 BR loft in Copper Valley (bronze), 10 Mile neighborhood; 2 BR/2 BA in Copper Springs (gold), East Village neighborhood or 2 BR/2 BA in Summit House, (bronze) 10 Mile neighborhood.  All three of these properties offer a full kitchen and you will have complimentary access to the fitness center.  The shuttle bus runs approximately every 15 minutes and it take 5 to 10 minutes to get to Union Creek.

Let me clarify...three kids, 14, 11, and 9...2BR/2BA will work.  Normally, we would get a 3/2, but witht economy...

Thanks for the info, I will focus on Cashe and Cirque.

Does anyone know where the ski school headquarters?

Over the Christmas Holiday, Union Creek will open and the ski school HQ is there as well.  Cache and Cirque are lodging options, but also look at Center Village.  Copper is divided into 3 separate villages: as you enter East, then Center, then lastly Union Creek. Good option is Passage Point in center village, bus runs every 5-10 minutes to Union Creek right outside the building across the street.

Union Creek. http://www.coppercolorado.com/winter/ski_and_ride_school/group_lessons/youth_lessons_6-15

Lessons don't start until 10, so you could ride a lift from Center Village and ski over, depending on ability. If you go east of Center Village, though, you'll probably need to shuttle.

Thanks for all the help...our history has been Snowbird, Solitude, Breck...with the kids.  While wifey and I have skied all over, BK and are solid Black skiers, which of resort might provide the best experience for us? Kids are all solid Blues, with one "Danger Boy" that will go down anything.  We are looking forward to the trip.

Copper or Keystone?

They are both great resorts.  Why not ski both during your vacation?

I'm guessing Keystone will be much more crowded during that week.

Agree with Segbrown,

Since the onset of the epic pass  seems Copper Mountain has not been as crowded the last few years over the holidays. The Colorado Pass which has black outs for Vail and Beaver Creek over the time of your travels will also tend to funnel people to A-basin, Breckenridge, and/or Keystone.

and Copper is a MUCH better mountain than Keystone....

Try the website VRBO.com.  I'm staying at Copper Jan 5-10 and found a great deal on a condo in the Tucker Mountain Lodge, which is right in the middle of Center Village.  I would recommend Center Village, as you're 1 chair ride in either direction for whatever terrain you want to ski.  The website is set up pretty cool and let's you drill down to exactly where you want to stay.

Copper's a great mountain, layed out really nice, and everyone in your group should find something they like.
