Looking to buy a new bench / vice

Looking for some advice on a new tuning bench and vice setup.

For the bench I'm looking for something really sturdy that can quickly be folded away. Everything i've read points towards the Homenkol bench, but the cheapest i've found it for is $470 and that's with a raceform discount. That's a little more money than i'm looking to spend. One alternative would be the 'Bench of Beast' which is $249. I'm wondering if anyone has experience with this bench and can confirm that it's a good setup? I'm open to other ideas as well if i'm missing something.

For the vices i need something that can grip both race and freeride skis - up to 115mm waist. I could go for something with narrower jaws and just grab the toepiece, but it seems like that might mess with the height of the setup. Does anyone have any suggestions? Again looking for something sturdy that will last.

Thanks!

I built this one that Philpug designed.  Works great, just hauled mine home from the summer home yesterday.

The holmenkol is a bit spendy (didn't realize it was that much, I think i paid somwhere north of $200 a few years back) but it is a superb piece of kit and really solid to work on.

Bought a Skil bench online through Lowes. Here's a link on Amazon which is a few bucks cheaper. http://www.amazon.com/Skil-3100-12-X-Bench-Workstation/dp/B0010ODQ1U. Think I may have paid $150. Very sturdy. Probably a bit harder to fold up than a ski specific bench, but you can use it as a regular workbench too. Use it with Skiman vices I bought last year.

The Race Place is in the next state over and they have benches.  If they don't have something you like, call them, they are very helpful.  If you talk to Scott, tell him RaceWax referred you.

oops, sorry, I just re-read the original post and saw you have been to their site.  Anyway, call the owner Scott and ask him for suggestions, he is one of the top guys in the business.
