I've come back to the sport of skiing after a 4 year hiatus while in college. I'm now in the market for new gear. I'd classify myself as an advanced intermediate skier, I dabbled in racing while in high school, but definitely was not the star skier. I tried on both the RS110's and the Inferno Blaze boots, and did a shell fit on both as well. I'm 6' tall man at 145 lbs, and while racing I wore the old Nordica K9.2 boots (130 flex), but I think they were a little big for my size 9 feet.
To the point, both boots fit well in a 25.5 (I went to bootfitters to browse for boots, and these are the boots they advised), the only thing I'm concerned about is the flex. Would a 110 flex be too little for someone my size and ability, or would it be too much? I understand that "flex" ratings are really a matter of opinion and personal preference, I'm just curious as to the opinions of other bootfitters out there. By the way, I'm a Minnesota skier, and the bootfitter I went to is Steve at Tonka Cycle and Ski in Minnetonka, has anyone seen him before? The only other decent bootfitter I'm aware of near Minneapolis is Pierce Ski and Skate.
