my fall color
still waiting for a lot of leaves to change...
some I missed
I should post locations, though anyone that clicks on my tr's have seen those spots and those dogs before...
1. sunset over tallac, jake's, rubicon, and bliss
2. east shore
3/4. the new good ol' cabin - dakota
5. on the way to the beach from the cabin
6/7. many tahoe people will know it, but I shouldn't try to post relatively quiet spots on the internet - 6 - maddie
8. jake's peak from fallen leaf
and since it's a ski forum
here's a rerun of jake on jake's with spring colors
^This shot is money^!
It took me a few minutes to figure out where is was.
Here is mine from the other side a few days ago:
The aspen leaves really started peaking the last few days.
Here is one from yesterday, just north of Fallen Leaf:
Hope you can get out & shoot some of these colors with a real camera
I keep missing those aspens at fallen leaf...
I was a little early last year too, hence the jakes sunrise shot...
I'm shooting a fly fishing comp this weekend on the Truckee from the NV border through downtown Reno...
hopefully we'll find some nice leaves then...
I still like skies and water better then fall colors for pitcher takin'
Since we're talkin' Tahoe in the fall — shot this last Sunday on the east shore. Looks like we should go paddling today, tomorrow looks iffy with a huge storm comin' in — no snow predicted though.
Hey Trekchick — welcome to Tahoe, you'll love it here.
thats a nice shot...
what lens, how wide?
that rock to the right of the yellow boat looks familiar
and of course, in the shot above
Thank you!!! Shot the east shore photo with my Pentax W90 with automated photomerge in Photoshop. I use my Pentax when I need my camera to be waterproof, shockproof, etc. My real camera is a Canon EOS 7D, Canon L Series 24 to 105 f4. I shoot with my iPhone Hipstamatic for special effects — here are a few of my iPhone photos:
Since moving to Tahoe, I'll admit that I miss the brilliant oranges and reds of fall color from Michigan, but I do love how beautifully Splitter and the like tend to view and capture the beauty of fall in different regions....
UGASkiDawg, your color is most interesting.....
patagonia hosted a fly fishin' comp through reno to benefit trout unlimited...
followed around a couple of fellas from the U.S. fly fishin' team (the U.S. has a fly fishing team?) at a park downtown for an hour until it started raining and I had to put the camera away
Splitter, I love your shots — without giving out secrets, what types of cameras/lenses do you use?
Ya, yesterday's wind and rain was something else!!!
No paddling yesterday!
My garden this morning...
We'll just have to see how much snow the resorts got.
