Maybe it's me but wouldn't getting the right boot be easier if you could mix and match parts; that lower, with this cuff, that zeppa and this liner? Might not be able to get same day service, but you'd have a boot that was built for you.
You would mainly have to stock a lot of lower shells but only a few different cuffs; small, medium and large; maybe short, regular and tall too. For the lowers I'm guessing it would be each size with narrow, medium and large. It just seems that you should be able to build a boot around the foot instead of making the boot fit.
A side benefit would be for kids. My daughter grew out of her lower shell but I have to replace the entire boot. Why? I have a friend who has cracked his lower (4th or 5th pair he's done this to). Seems the only repair is replace the lower shell which means buying a new boot.
I can do this with a car (add the tow package) but not a ski boot?
If I think about it longer I'm sure I'll come up with all the reasons it won't work but right now I would like to pretend that in an alternative universe, it does.
