Opinions on Boots

HI everyone. im looking to investing in a new pair of boots this season. Im currently on atomic btech90. Im looking for a stiffer boot. Right now i am pretty much deciding between Lange freeride 130, Banshee or Banshee Pro, Rossi bsquad 110, or Salomon Ghost. Would like to hear anyones opinions and inputs, thanks.

if you want opinions on all the boots listed i would suggest reposting your thread in the general gear discussion forum, the only people who can reply in here are the boot fitters, without seeing your feet we cannot say what boot is correct for you, suffice to say that they are all a lot narrower (around 98mm for most) than your current boots which are 104mm shells

the most important thing is to get the correct boot for your foot and your skiing, the boots you have listed are all old season stock so be wary of what you get...read the wiki at the top of the forum (which boot will work for me) and get a good idea of what is right for you before making a purchase (the one which feels nice and comfortable in the store is most likely too big for you)

all the boots are fine IF they fit but only if they fit a visit to a reputable boot fitter (again there is a list at the top of the forum) will take the pain out of the choices and for very little more money than buying a clearance boot and then paying to have it put right

over the life of the boot you will spend several thousand $$ on skiing, this is probably the most important purchase and the one you should research properly and work with an expert on

good luck getting sorted

Sorry i did not realize this was just for boot fitting. I do not know how to delete the thread, but if you tell me i will be more than happy to do so.

I also understand your point in going to a shop, but here in NJ the best shops still suck and carry very little selection on boots, most of them, 99%, being 90 flex and less. I can get more expert advise on the forum than at the shop here where the guy that was helping me doesn't even ski. Plus i am purchasing from a store with a 30 day return policy, so i was thinking of taking them to a boot fitter and seeing what they say, if it doesn't fit my foot perfect then i can just return them.

Yes the boots i have now are 104mm but i purchased them with the intention of having my foot with a little space. My feet measure at 100mm, so would a 98 be too small?

Thanks CEM.

What shops do you to?

Heino's race dept. stocks up to 150 flex, and will order plug boots, wc plug boots.

They and other shops do stock a full line of high end boots.

Many things go into picking the right flex for how you ski, a lot of skiers buy too stiff of a boot, then cut them to make them softer.

Box stores are not ski shops.

You should only buy boots from a boot fitter. There are a few good fitters in NJ, in fact some of the best are here ( 2 were listed by  starthaus  ) Then you will not need a return policy.

Not really.. My feet are 104-105mm and I find 98mm last comfy. It depends...

Go to Greg at Heino and you won't be dissappointed.
