While reading about this years new boots I came across these boots on the Atomic website.... Why would one want an increased stand height in a boot, when if that's something you wanted you could just add lift plates? Does 5mm really make that much of a difference? Just curious on what your thoughts are on this particular boot and why Atomic would develop such.
atomic BURNER & MEDUSA: ALL-MOUNTAIN BOOTS WITH INCREASED STAND HEIGHT…
The Burner (for men) and Medusa (for women) are especially designed to meet the demands of all-mountain skiers. On both models, the newly developed Enduro chassis improves the edge grip of wider skis thanks to a 5 mm increase in stand height and delivers the kind of impressive performance expected by all-mountain skiers.
… AND NEW ALUMINIUM BUCKLES
Another ATOMIC innovation are the Alu 7000 buckles featured on both the Burner and Medusa. They are currently the lightest aluminium buckles on the market and yet are extremely robust. In conjunction with the ASY Sport liner they ensure perfect support.
