Several reviews of the 2010 keep pointing me to Head's Peak 82 or 78 All Mountain skis, but posts herein say the 2011 line is a totally different ski from 2008/2009/2010.
- 82s http://www.head.com/ski/ski.php?region=us&tag=all_mountain_freeride&id=3028
- 78s http://www.head.com/ski/ski.php?region=us&tag=all_mountain_freeride&id=3030
That + the ugly line green color (+ HEAD dealership issues in USA?) means I need some alternatives.
I ski fast, but I can compromise speed on an All-Mountain ski because I have a 2005 pair of Atomic Izor 9:7s that are uber-fast.
That said, I don't want to compromise speed too much.
That, that said, last years All-Mountain demos left me distinctly unimpressed (like going from a Ferrari to a bicycle). Zzzzzzzzzz.
Also, I see a lot of positives about rocker, but wading through the marketing-speak to determine if this or that ski has rocker is making me cross-eyed.
Stats: 5'11", 176, advanced (DIN 11-13)(if we exclude moguls, which are impossible on Izors); ski mostly in Colorado (Breck/Keystone/Vail) with trips to Telluride, etc.
Price range: $1000 or less for skis+bindings+shipping+tax.
