Oh, sorry. We already reviewed it in the secret snowboarding bro brah forums.
Here's the highlight of the evening for me:
"I saw him before the Boulder showing last night. He didn't want to talk about the movie. I said "okay, so like do you ever find yourself in terrain and go "oh f**k" once you get a good look at it? Like that's not really what you signed up for?" He kinda smiled and said "watch the movie". I called that one right! He said f**k a few times and a few other choice words during the movie. Glad to know it isn't just my friends getting me into terrain where I utter the F-word."
The snowboarding shots in Alaska and Chamonix are sick. Just line after line of untracked freshies. Some stuff you wonder how they got down it. It truly shows the dangers of backcountry snowboarding. He and a friend did get over their heads at one point around Chamonix. Crazy steep narrow icy line. Nowhere to turn or get an edge. They bailed. In all, the movie makes me want to go camping on Thompson Pass for a week.
Get there early if you go. Look around for a slim guy casually dressed and wearing a baseball cap within 20 feet of the poster table. He won't come introduce himself. He's kinda shy and soft-spoken. Don't get starry-eyed and go into hero worship mode. Don't try to talk about the movie before the movie. During the movie he may be hanging out at the bar by himself. He'll sign posters before and after the movie.
