What a pleasant surprise!
I went up the tram this morning expecting to slog over to Cody Bowl and make some scratchy turns on new/old snow. Instead, I found blue skies, 8-10" of new (and FLUFFY) snow, and a short walk to just barely out of bounds at JH.
The snow was boot-top deep in places and really, really nice. This is definitely the earliest I've ever skied new powder in a season. Clonked a couple of rocks in a minor sort of way, but overall it was good skiing - stupendous when you consider the calendar.
